Very disappointed as I planned a trip to review older probate records. No access was provided as "they are in the basement, not indexed and have no idea how they are filed as I have not been down there" I was provided the Douglas County Historical Society info - they are only open 10am - 2pm on Saturdays. I messaged them and they were very nice and helpful, but said the probate records at the courthouse is what I need and they do not have access either. Guess this part of my family history will be a permanent road block until there is a new county clerk willing to provide access under the open records act.
